To get a better snapshot of how far we’ve come, we’ve rounded up the ways REDMAGIC gaming smartphones have excelled in 2025, with a special focus on our flagship 11 Pro. When you look at a gaming smartphone, you tend to focus on core features that improve agility, gameplay, and endurance. Typically, in a gaming phone, this would account for the chipset, display, battery, cooling, and gaming capabilities. Performance and Value
Naturally, a gaming smartphone needs to have the power to keep up with demanding titles, rapid processing, and heavy graphics. This means that its chipset needs to be agile across the board. However, performance also needs to align with value for money, as most gaming phones tend to stray a bit too close to the sun and end up charging exorbitant prices.

Earlier this year, Tabitha Baker for Games Radar crowned the REDMAGIC 10S Pro the best value gaming phone of 2025, stating that the device had only taken the place of its predecessor in the ‘best value’ category and that it offered incredible performance, a bold, vibrant display, a slick screen-to-body ratio, and a value-friendly price tag.
While these August rankings were a bit too early to include the 11 Pro, Baker attested to our flagship phone’s cutting-edge tech in a later review, calling it “the king of the castle” and offering some of the best benchmark scores she’d seen in a gaming phone to date.
Baker added that REDMAGIC gaming smartphones are historically “the most powerful on the market,” without the flagship-level price tags, and that this “potent combination” puts our devices amongst the best gaming phones for years now, with the 11 Pro being the final boss. To conclude, she stated that if you're after the best-performing gaming phone she's tested so far, with a battery life to back it up and a display to impress, this should absolutely be at the top of your shopping list.
Writing for ZDNET, Jack Wallen stated that the 11 Pro happened to be one of the first phones to sport the new Snapdragon Elite 8 Gen 5 chipsets, and “wow, does it show.” He noted that the 11 Pro takes full advantage of Qualcomm’s leading chip, and that even his Pixel 9 Pro couldn’t match the speed of the phone, despite being roughly $200 more expensive.
He concluded his review by saying that if you want “serious power in your hands without overheating, and a UI that defines what Android can be, the REDMAGIC 11 Pro is the phone to beat. With an industry-leading CPU, liquid cooling, and an elegant case, this smartphone is a thing of power and beauty.”
Along the same vein, Ogbonda Chivumnovu from Techloy decided to pit the 11 Pro against one of the leading gaming smartphones in the industry: the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro. In his testing, the 11 Pro won hands down, showcasing a newer chip, better thermals, and a more consistent performance under strain.
His benchmark tests also showed a huge leap in sustained performance, with the phone maintaining high frame rates even during extended sessions of Call of Duty Mobile or Fortnite. He further stated that the 11 Pro’s AquaCore cooling system is responsible for ensuring stable frame rates during hours of gameplay, “giving it a consistent edge for extended sessions, and maintaining PC-level performance in your hand.”
While the ROG Phone 9 Pro, which runs on the older Snapdragon 8 Elite, is no slouch, the device began to show its age during long, graphics-heavy sessions against the 11 Pro. Even in terms of cooling, the Asus’ vapor chamber cooling is efficient, but the 11 Pro’s liquid-cooled system takes thermal management to another level.

Chivumnovu further explained that while the Asus would win in his display comparison, the 11 Pro’s full-screen experience is still visually stunning and ahead in terms of immersive gameplay. Similarly, while the Asus wins on paper with faster storage and a larger RAM capacity, the 11 Pro still delivers more than enough power for even hardcore gamers at a fraction of the price. At almost half the cost, you’d still be getting cutting-edge specs, which is a massive win for gamers on a budget.
For the value addition, the Telegraph found both the REDMAGIC 10S Pro and 10 Air on its list of the best gaming smartphones of 2025. The 10S Pro was crowned Best Buy Pick because it offers excellent gaming features at a competitive price while focusing on world-class performance and an unobstructed display. The REDMAGIC 10 Air, on the other hand, was awarded the title of Best Value Gaming Phone for its affordable price tag while still being able to play the “most advanced games fluidly at high graphical settings.”

When reviewing the 11 Pro across from the OnePlus 15, CNET noted that the device is, first and foremost, a gaming phone that also handles everyday smartphone tasks. They also found that the display of the 11 Pro easily gave it an edge over the OnePlus 15, with the AMOLED panel showing off better colors and boasting a higher refresh rate. The hidden selfie cameras under the display also gave “a truly edge-to-edge, with no camera cutout.”
Endurance
Now, performance demands power, which is why battery life is such a pivotal part of your gaming smartphone’s specs. The 11 Pro once again broke ground with a massive 7,500mAh battery, 80W wired and wireless charging, and two-way wireless charging. In their review of the phone, Phone Arena were barely surprised that the 11 Pro topped their battery benchmark tests quite effortlessly, becoming “the reigning battery champion,” and ranking as number 2 in the lineup of the phones they’ve tested in the past 2 years.
According to their tests, the Battery Life Estimate of the 11 Pro stood at 10 hours and 43 minutes, while the average battery life estimate is around 7 hours and 21 minutes. They also stated that you'd be hard-pressed to drain the battery in one day and would “need to play games for more than 12 hours straight to do that,” further stating that if you use the phone more modestly, you'd easily get two full days of usage on a single charge.
For Trusted Reviews, not only did the 11 Pro “breeze through” their 3D Wildlife Extreme testing with an astounding score of 8113, but it also stayed cool during use. When compared to the Asus ROG Phone 9 again, they noted that the 11 Pro could easily last two days on a single charge without difficulty, while the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro’s battery is slightly smaller at 5800mAh, and is firmly a one-day device.
They concluded that while both the 11 Pro and ROG Phone 9 Pro have plenty of strengths, anyone looking for an affordable gaming smartphone, with a powerful and newer processor, a mighty two-day battery life, and an immersive display should rather opt for the REDMAGIC 11 Pro.
Gameplay
A gaming phone needs to be good at gaming, of course. While all of our REDMAGIC smartphones are versatile, we’ve kept our core gamer market in mind with every release. For CNET, we’ve built our entire ethos around mobile gaming, and the 11 Pro is the epitome of that. When being compared to the OnePlus 15, the 11 Pro showed a clear advantage in gaming with maxed out storage specs, a flat and comfortable design, and impressive touch-sensitive shoulder triggers.

They also go ahead and mention the 11 Pro’s pioneering, self-contained liquid cooling system, which they call the pinnacle of it all, which is still a rarity on all but the highest-end gaming PCs. They note that the AquaCore system helps to maintain peak gaming performance for longer than ever, and while it all may seem a bit overkill, it really sets REDMAGIC apart.
To push the proof further, Dame Tech decided to pit the REDMAGIC 11 Pro against the iPhone 17 Pro Max in a gameplay YouTube test review as he tackled titles like Wuthering Waves, Delta Force, Fortnite, and Destiny Rising. The results were quite conclusive, with the 11 Pro winning all four gaming tests while showing better FPS performance, lower thermals, and impressive resolution. While the iPhone definitely put up a good fight, the 11 Pro was ultimately named Dame Tech’s new gaming king.

For Justin Diaz from Android Headlines, the REDMAGIC 10S Pro also proved to be the best gaming smartphone available to beat. He stated that not only is the device extremely capable because of its specifications, but it was “purpose-built for mobile gaming and offers specialized gaming features.” In summary, he stated that the 10S Pro is “an excellent example of what a gaming phone should be – affordable, powerful, and full of features that cater to the gamer.”
