Our decision to keep the same powerful 6000 mAh of potential throughout the entire series may have been a little less than exciting for some, but the battery is still much more than you get from a regular flagship, a point that the reviewers over at XDA Developers agree with. According to XDA, the battery showed unyielding resilience, lasting for longer than a day with moderate usage, and holding up fairly well with extensive gameplay and benchmark tests.

In addition to reviewing the device, GSM Arena ran a comprehensive battery test on the REDMAGIC 8S Pro and gave it a satisfactory 132-hour rating. This is only a slight jump from the 131-hour rating given to the REDMAGIC 8 Pro, but it’s (relatively) miles ahead of the 103 hours of the Asus ROG Phone 6D Ultimate, and the 127 hours on the Vivo IQOO 11 that each pack 6000 mAh and 5000 mAh respectively.

“After two hours of continuous gaming, I still have around 63% battery which is pretty decent.” These are the words of YouTube creator Tech Broll, who goes on to say that the device lasted 12 hours and 19 minutes as per the standard PC Mark Work 3.0 battery life benchmark. It’s clear that the REDMAGIC 8S Pro has an endurance level that’s simply been described as Excellent by the reviewers at GSM Arena.

Both the REDMAGIC 8 Pro and REDMAGIC 8S Pro come equipped with 65W fast charging capabilities and a powerful charger to support it. 65W may not sound like much when compared with some of the fastest-charging smartphones of 2023 like the OnePlus 10T with 150W, and the Redmi Note 12 Explorer with 210W. However, we can assure you that your REDMAGIC 8S Pro can go from 0-100% in the short time it takes to watch an episode of your favorite series.

The comprehensive battery test conducted by GSM Arena revealed that after only 15 minutes of charging, the REDMAGIC 8S Pro’s battery was replenished by 56%, and it reached the 100% mark after just 35 minutes. The test also revealed that this charging speed is slightly faster than the REDMAGIC 8 Pro, a result so unbelievable that the reviewers are prepared to leave it down to statistical error. The 0-100% in 35 minutes fast charge was also corroborated by Karthik Iyer of XDA Developers, who says that it’s significantly faster than many phones he’s used recently.

The REDMAGIC 8S Pro also has some additional battery features to ensure peak performance, such as the Turbo Charge option, and the Charge Separation option which essentially bypasses the battery and charges the phone directly. This is beneficial for gamers who prefer to play with the phone plugged into the charger, and for anyone who wishes to preserve the phone’s battery life in the long run.
