Comparing the Greats

Now that we have a firm grasp of what the main differences are between the two devices, let’s delve a bit deeper into what each of these features has to offer.

Designed to Elevate

One of the key differences between the 11 Air and 11 Pro is the size and weight discrepancy. The REDMAGIC 11 Air is part of our ultra-light, ultra-affordable Air Series that boasts accessibility and a more compact, lightweight design.

While the 11 Pro is no beast of burden when it comes to size or weight either, it’s still considerably heftier than its younger sibling, the 11 Air. Notably, the 11 Air’s slighter weight and dimensions make it more suitable for people on the go who require effortless portability and frequent travelers who need to save space.

Pushing Performance

Performance is an easy metric to judge most gaming devices on, after all, you’ll be needing a certain amount of performance prowess to complete certain tasks. While both phones feature our signature REDMAGIC RedCore R4 gaming chip, the 11 Pro takes it a step further with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.

While the 8 Elite chipset in the 11 Air is still a worthy contender, the 11 Pro offers more advanced multitasking and speeds. For performance purposes, the 11 Pro seems to be a clear winner and would appeal to anyone looking for intensive processing speeds that can effortlessly handle demanding tasks, gaming titles, and heavy graphics.

When pitting the two devices against one another, Ulmer Washington stated that the hardware was the most significant difference. He noted that while the 11 Pro is undeniably the more powerful device on paper and with benchmark tests, the 11 Air’s real-world performance remains strong, maintaining stable frame rates thanks to its efficient active fan and large vapor chamber, while avoiding the dramatic thermal spikes seen in some heavier designs.

See Things Clearly

When it comes to visuals, both phones generally offer the same specs on most ends when it comes to brightness, resolution, and refresh rate. While the 11 Pro comes in hot with a BOE AMOLED display, the 11 Air takes a more lenient OLED panel approach. Essentially, AMOLED screens are a more advanced form of OLED panels, offering faster response times and battery efficiency, while standard OLEDs often rely on passive matrix control suited for smaller, simpler screens.

The 11 Air has a slightly higher screen-to-body ratio, which provides more screen space and a more immersive experience. The 11 Air is also IP54 rated for splash protection, while the 11 Pro boasts a more intensive IPX8 rating for water resistance combined with a unique dust-proof design. Both screens offer superior visual fidelity and quality; however, the 11 Pro would provide more advanced graphics, while the 11 Air improves immersion.

Keeping Your Cool

The 11 Pro made waves with its launch as the world’s first mass-produced smartphone to use liquid cooling. The revolutionary REDMAGIC AquaCore cooling system in the 11 Pro uses fluorinated liquid cooling alongside Liquid Metal 3.0, a large 13,116 mm² vapor chamber, and our signature 24,000 RPM fan. The 11 Pro has a cooling system built for users who take gaming seriously and would need amped up cooling to get through each level.

On the other hand, the 11 Air still holds its own with our ICE cooling system that uses Active Airflow to maintain optimal temperatures. Armed with a 24,000 RPM turbo fan, a large tier-structured vapor chamber, and Graphene layering, the 11 Air provides enough cooling power to keep stable frame rates and prevent overheating. While both devices will keep you cooler for longer, the 11 Pro definitely has the advantage when it comes to cooling capacity.

Power That Goes Further

When it comes to battery size, the 11 Pro naturally takes the cake with a 500mAh lead. The 7000mAh battery of the 11 Air still packs a punch and is built to support all-day, high-intensity usage with Smart Magic Cube AI management, customizable bypass charging, and strong 80W wired charging support.

The 7,500mAh battery in the 11 Pro is also a powerhouse, effortlessly giving players up to 34.1 hours of daily use and 7.4 hours of Genshin Impact gaming at full frame rate. The one main addition to the 11 Pro over the 11 Air is our first venture into the world of 80W wireless charging. With this in mind, the 11 Pro would be more apt for people who need lasting power and are more drawn to versatile charging options.

Game. Set. Play.

Now, naturally, a gaming smartphone needs to actually run a good game at the end of the day. Both devices come armed with our REDMAGIC RedCore R4 gaming chip to optimize frame rates and battery efficiency, while also sporting 520Hz shoulder triggers for immersive, console-like gameplay. Both can also rely on our signature Game Space features to upgrade, elevate, and optimize performance and skills as you play.

Ultimately, the processing power, cooling, and visuals of the 11 Pro show better promise for intensive gamers. However, the 11 Air still holds weight when it comes to gameplay and shouldn’t be dismissed so easily for more casual gameplay.

Sticking to the Budget

Generally, the gist of the 11 Air comes down to a lighter design and a slightly different take on the 11 Pro. This means a lower price point, which is obviously more appealing to wider audiences. While the price difference isn’t extortionate, it could make a big difference depending on your budget and need for specific features.

The 11 Air was designed to be more affordable and accessible in an industry where flashy demands a fortune. For students or anyone just looking to save money while enjoying the same great performance REDMAGIC always delivers on, the 11 Air is a more suitable choice.

So, Which One Is for Me?

While we can break down the finer details and compare specs for days, the choice ultimately lies with you to decide between the two powerhouse devices. Both gaming smartphones offer exceptional performance, cooling, display, and gameplay features that make them stand out in a crowd and on the market. The 11 Pro presents itself as a more performance-heavy device, focusing on driven power and resilience to match its higher price point.

The 11 Air can be seen as a more refined option built to take the weight off your shoulders and offer a more subtle, yet still powerful angle. Generally, the 11 Air is directed more towards students, regular gamers, or people who might have a stricter budget. The 11 Pro is aimed more at intensive, competitive gamers who prioritize speed, performance, and agility over ergonomics and budget-friendly designs.

Either way you choose to go, REDMAGIC provides a uniquely curated set of features and fittings that will meet you halfway, no matter how you choose to use your phone. So, take a deep breath and review your options as much as possible, but always be assured that no matter which one you decide to add to your cart, your journey with REDMAGIC will always elevate the way you move through life.
