REDMAGIC Frequently Asked Questions and Answers from Reddit and Facebook
Hello REDMAGIC community, we’re glad to have you with us to learn more about REDMAGIC and your device. This week, a lot of the questions came from people who are looking to join the REDMAGIC family, and would like to know more before making that all important buying decision. Let’s see if we can shed some light on their concerns to make the transition easier.
How Long Does a Single Charge Last on the REDMAGIC 9 Pro?
The question of how long a 6500 mAh gaming smartphone battery lasts is a bit tough to answer because there aren’t many devices to compare it to. However, there are some devices that come close, and we were lucky enough to be included in a side-by-side battery performance comparison that makes it easier to answer the question.
The reviewer tested the battery life of the REDMAGIC 9 Pro by putting it through various tasks alongside other flagship devices. After 30 minutes of video calls and an hour of YouTube, it still had 90% battery. Even after a 20-minute intense gaming session and 30 minutes of web browsing, it retained 72% battery. After a total of 7 hours of intense testing, including gaming and regular tasks, it still had 50% battery left.
In the lab test conducted by us, the REDMAGIC 9 Pro delivered up to 56 hours of juice when used normally.
How Long Do REDMAGIC Devices Typically Last?
The question of how long your Android device will last can be broken into two answers: physical durability and software. As far as software goes, Android devices will have stopped receiving updates after three years, and that’s how long most people prefer to keep them for. Additionally, after three years of consistent usage, the battery may start to deteriorate, which brings us to physical durability.
A device that’s used moderately and charged only a few times during its lifespan can last for up to 5 years, which is why some Android devices (Google Pixel) have started offering updates for up to seven years. How long your REDMAGIC device will last is up to you, but it’s typically between 2 to 5 years.
Can I Connect My REDMAGIC 9 Pro to a PC Gaming Setup via USB-C?
Connecting your REDMAGIC 9 Pro and older REDMAGIC devices to a PC monitor or TV via USB-C is a seamless experience. The REDMAGIC Gravity-X platform facilitates smooth connectivity to external devices such as emulators and monitors, enhancing your gaming experience by allowing you to enjoy games with higher graphics on a larger screen.
To access the feature, you’ll need to install Gravity-X on the external device in order to link it to your device.
What Is the Difference Between Diablo Mode and Rise Mode?
REDMAGIC devices come with three different modes you can activate to suit your use cases, four if you count the Diablo Mode. The Eco and Balance Modes priorities preserving the battery and delivering a satisfying daily driver experience. The Rise and Diablo Modes are specifically for gaming, with a slight difference between the two.
Rise Mode is great for playing graphically demanding games and fast paced gaming sessions. It achieves this by using more battery power to maximize the performance of the REDMAGIC 9 Pro, which can also cause the built in fan to work overtime. Rise Mode monitors the CPU performance on your REDMAGIC and ensures everything stays running smoothly.
Diablo Mode is like a hidden treasure for those who want to unlock the device's full potential. It boosts performance even more by overclocking CPU speed, and this makes the device generate a lot more heat. Way more than the cooling system can handle by itself. Diablo Mode is ideal for when those fast paced, graphically demanding games become intense, and it’s not advisable to use your device in this mode for too long.
Why Do Some Games Constantly Crash on REDMAGIC 9 Pro?
The issue of games crashing has been a common complaint on various gaming and smartphone platforms. The common denominator in all the complaints is that the games are from the Unity game engine, and they usually crash on devices that have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, such as the Galaxy S24, OnePlus 12, and of course REDMAGIC 9 Pro. Some of the most popular games are affected by this, including Pokémon Go and Dragon Ball Legends.
On our end, we can only hope that Unity games can be developed to accommodate Snapdragon requirements. Or alternatively, that Snapdragon makes some changes on their end.
