After releasing the REDMAGIC 6 Series, we released our first range of external cooling solutions with the REDMAGIC Ice Dock and the Dual-Core Ice Dock. We’ve since released two more with the REDMAGIC 7 Series and the REDMAGIC 8 Series. This blog will be exploring the unique characteristics of the REDMAGIC Dual-Core Ice Dock, the REDMAGIC Turbo Cooler, and the latest REDMAGIC Turbo Cooler Gen 4 to discover how REDMAGIC revolutionizes the design of the cooling dock with each generation, and to help you decide which one is best for your gaming smartphone. 

 

REDMAGIC Dual-Core Ice Dock

The first cooling dock on our list was created as an improved version of the first Ice Dock, and it has improved semi-conductors for even better heat dissipation. It weighs 189g with a total diameter of only 42mm, making it possible to play comfortably without feeling like it’s in the way. 

The REDMAGIC Dual-Core Ice Dock needs to be plugged into a power source with a Type-C cable, then it can be connected to a device via Bluetooth. 

 

The dual 7-blade fans are turned on immediately when you click it onto your device to deliver cooling action right away, and it automatically turns off when the clamps retract to the original position. The fan’s speed can be adjusted directly on the REDMAGIC Equipment App that you can download by simply scanning the QR code in the user manual. The app also allows you to change the cooling dock’s RGB lights to your liking, or turn them off completely if you wish. 

 

REDMAGIC Turbo Cooler

The REDMAGIC Turbo cooler delivers the same portable cooling performance as its predecessor, but the cooling surface is increased by 20% covering more of your device’s hot spots and effectively cooling it down faster. Instead of two separate fans, it combines a 29-blade centrifugal fan and an axial flow fan to boost airflow by 48%. The new fan design also does an excellent job of silencing the fan, producing only 28db of noise to make it the most silent external cooling solution in our range. 

 

It also needs to be connected to an external power source, and it attaches with the same powerful tension spring that extends even further to make the REDMAGIC Turbo Cooler compatible with any device that’s 70-82mm wide.

 

REDMAGIC Turbo Cooler Gen 4

The latest addition to REDMAGIC’s external cooling solutions is the REDMAGIC Turbo Cooler Gen 4, made better by ICE 4.0 semiconductor cooling technology. It uses AI to maintain peak cooling power and make the heat dissipation process last longer. Cooling efficiency is increased by 20% to drop the temperature of the device by up to 26 degrees Celsius. The fan itself has also received a boost with a total of 47 blades in the centrifugal fan and 7 axial blades that spin at 4800 rpm to pump up the flow of air and cool the phone down even faster. 

 

It’s the most widely compatible cooling attachment in our range, fitting perfectly on any device that’s 66-87mm wide. It also features a mechanical control button allowing you to adjust the speed of the fan without needing to use the app.

 

What’s Your Cooling Solution? 

The REDMAGIC Dual-Core Ice Dock was created to supplement the existing internal fan on the REDMAGIC devices, and it does an excellent job of keeping the phone’s temperature at a stable rate. It may not be the ideal choice if your phone doesn’t have its own internal cooling system.
